The solid cast-iron grates provide superior heat distribution - just what you need for baking, braising and steaming in a cast-iron pot. Your meats, vegetables and cakes will cook through without burning, as the appliance stands on three 4.8 cm long legs that provide the ideal distance from the bottom of the pot. These grates can be used immediately and do not need to be treated before the first use.
For steaming, put one grate in the cast iron pot or simply stack several grates. If the grate is placed directly in the coals, it will quickly grill the perfect grill marks on a piece of meat. Or you place the stacked grates in the fire and use them as a surface on which to place percolators, kettles or pots without legs. It can also be used as a practical tray for hot cookware on the table.
